Situada en una de las plazas más bellas de España encontrareis esta maravilla del Románico, la única de las siete ermitas del siglo XII que se mantiene abierta al culto. La mayor parte del edificio actual corresponde a las obras realizadas en el siglo XVI, y posteriores reformas en el XVII, XVIII y XIX pero todavía conserva numerosos elementos de su origen. Como la preciosa torre que posee una altura enorme en proporción con el resto del edificio y que posee una doble arquería en su parte más alta. Otro de los elementos destacados es su ábside, que a resistido bastante bien el paso del tiempo. En cuanto al interior, hay muchas cosas que ver, por que al haber sido restaurada a lo largo de la historia finalmente se ha creado una de mezcla de estilos en su interior que la diferencian del resto de iglesias románicas. Cuando lo normal en una iglesia románica es que no haya muchas ornamentaciones en esta iglesia nos sorprenderá la gran decoración que posee. Tambien llama la atención que en la base de la torre se encuentra el curioso «balcón verde», construido por Juan Pérez de la Torre y Zúñiga para contemplar los festejos taurinos celebrados desde antiguo en la Plaza Mayor, ya que dicho caballero habitaba una casa de la calle Real, sin vistas a la plaza.
